Attention: The 2025 George Fowler Auction is scheduled for a Saturday the 30th of May

The George Fowler Auction is usually held at the BARG club rooms on the last Sunday in May. This year 2026, SATURDAY 30th of MAY has been earmarked for this famous event. It will begin immediately after the General meeting at 11AM.
The location hasn’t changed. The BARG club rooms at Ballarat airport will buzzing on the day.
To find us, do a Google Maps search for “Ballarat Amateur Radio Group” , and that’s where you will find us.
Goods for auction are donated by members and friends of the club, come from estates or can be sold on a commission basis. Some, and in particular estate items will have reserve prices applied.
The Auctioneer keeps the bids coming and is quick to throw in a few extra items to spice up slow moving lots. Some lots sell for less than $5. Popular items can see some fierce bidding, occasionally bringing triple figures.
The day starts with a BBQ Lunch and a chance for a social catch up with the first auction calls going out at 1pm.
You never know what you might find or what bargains you might go home with.
Heads up, car parking in the immediate vicinity might be a bit tight but plenty available very close by in the adjoining streets.
