BARG 2 Metre FM Scramble Rules 2026

AIM: For participants, BARG members and others, to contact as many other stations on the 2m FM band, Simplex over a 5-minute period and to encourage use of the BARG 2m Repeater VK3RBT.

Suggested CQ call is “CQ SCRAMBLE”. Stations will then exchange serial numbers, beginning at 001. Only serial numbers and callsigns need to be exchanged. Multiple contacts between the same stations are not eligible.

Frequency: 146.425 – 146.600 MHz, FM Simplex.

Scoring is simple: One point per contact.

Who can participate? : Open to all qualified amateurs.

Repeater usage: VK3RBT to co-ordinate the beginning of the scramble and as the callback channel at the end of the contest.

Back to basics: This is an honour scoring system, no logs to be submitted, just your total score at the end of the event.

Duration: Each Sunday evening from 2000 AEDT to 2005 AEDT, 5 minutes

The coordinator will count down to 2000 AEDT on VK3RBT, using Mobile Phone and or PC coordinated time. (So if you have problems getting to VK3RBT you can still participate.)

After the 5 minute event, stations will call in on VK3RBT to give their scores, PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT VK3RBT BEFORE THE START.

Please note, if you have problems with VK3RBT, there will be a station listening on VK3RBA, but note this is a competition to encourage VK3RBT use.

Historically, who ever wins, will, on the next scramble function as the coordinator and will not take part in that event.
